Spaghetti

Ingredients
2 pound Ground Beef
1 Onion (finely chopped - about 1/2 cup)
2 envelope Italian Spaghetti Sauce Mix (with mushrooms)
30 ounce Tomato Sauce (2-15 oz cans)
24 ounce Tomato Paste (2-12 oz cans)
3 cup Water
1 Tbs Sugar
1 tsp Oregano
2 clove Garlic (crushed)
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 Bay Leaf
16 ounce Spaghetti Noodles
Parmesan Cheese (grated)
1 Green Pepper (finely chopped)
Directions
In a large stock pot, cook and stir ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is browned and onion is tender;
Drain; to remove all traces of fat, place in colander and rinse with hot water.
Return meat mixture to pan.
Stir in remaining ingredients, except spaghetti noodles and cheese.
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring sauce occasionally.
Cook spaghetti noodles as directed.
Serve meat sauce over hot spaghetti noodles.
Pass the Parmesan Cheese.

Ok, in the recipe's defense, I am just not much of a spaghetti or pasta person. So my rating may be a bit on the low side; most people do love this recipe. It is a good meaty, chunky, flavorful sauce.
My mom always added fresh mushrooms to this when I was growing up. But "Be Careful", she would warn, "Mushrooms can make you go crazy!" Of course, I didn't get that joke at the time...
