Caramel Layer Bars

Ingredients
14 ounce Caramels
1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup Butter (or Margarine - melted)
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk (small can - divided)
6 ounce Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup Nuts (chopped)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°
In a sauce pan over low heat, melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside.
Mix together the cake mix, melted butter and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Spread half of this mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13î pan.
Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.
Take out of oven.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips, 1/2 of the nuts and drizzle with caramel mixture.
Dot top with remaining cake mixture.
Spread to connect dots.
Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or until bars pull away from the edge of the pan.
Cool completely before cutting.

I have to admit, I'm not a big brownie fan in general. But I love this recipe. If I'm going to make brownies, these are definitely my first choice! The texture is perfectly moist, the caramel is perfectly subtle, and the chocolate chips only add to their richness. Delish!
