2 cup Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
4 tsp Milk
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Shortening
3 cup Powdered Sugar
2 Tbs Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Directions
Cookies:
Preheat oven to 375°.
Beat 2/3 cup butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Stir in flour, baking powder and salt along with the 4 tsp milk.
Divide dough in half.
Chill 1 hour - or until dough is easy to handle.
Roll dough 1/8 -1/4 inch thick. (Thinner dough makes crisper cookies, thicker makes chewier)
Cut with 3 - 4 inch cookie cutters.
Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375° degrees for 8 - 9 minutes,
or until golden brown around the edges.
Remove from pan at once and cool on wire rack.
Frosting:
Cream 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening.
Add powdered sugar and mix.
Add 1 tsp vanilla and 2 Tbs milk as needed.
Mix until light and fluffy.
Once cookies are cooled, frost as desired
Katie Dishes - Two Thumbs WAY Up
One of my favorite kinds of cookies, with REAL creamy frosting (none of that hardened stuff!). So fun to make, fun to cut-out, fun to decorate, fun all the way around. Kids not only love to eat these, but they will also love to help. Its like art class at home.
I prefer rolling the cookies a little on the thin side. I find that when you put the frosting on the crisp cookie, it really softens the cookie quite a bit on its own, so if the cookie is too soft to begin with, it can be too much.
They are definitely a time consuming project, but so worth it in the end!
