Pineapple Glaze for Ham
Adapted From: Betty Crocker
Ingredients
1 cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
1 Tbs Cornstarch
1/4 tsp Salt
1 can Crushed Pineapple (with syrup - 8 1/2 oz)
2 Tbs Lemon Juice
1 Tbs Yellow Mustard
Directions
Mix brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a small saucepan.
Stir in pineapple, lemon juice, and mustard.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Remove the ham from oven 30 minutes before it is done.
Pour drippings from pan and remove any skin from ham.
Score ham surface lightly, cutting uniform diamond shapes.
If desired, insert whole clove into each criss-cross. (Cloves add a very distinct flavor!)
Pat or brush on glaze mixture.
Continue baking for 30 minutes.
(Glaze is enough for a 4 pound ham.)
Katie Dishes - So-So
I'm not a ham fan. But, I needed a picture, so I decided to try this for Easter this year. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't blown away either. Definitely worth trying if you like ham. But I liked the appricot glaze better.
